BEECH HALL SCHOOL Mega Triathlon Special 2019

We, the Year 10s from Beech Hall School in Macclesfield, Cheshire, have been challenged by our headmaster, James Allen, to raise £25,000 for a local Mental Health charity. To raise this money we are doing a Mega Triathlon that includes canoeing the 11 mile length of Lake Windermere in the Lake District, then cycling approximately 100 miles from Kendal to Disley before walking the remaining 13 miles back to Beech Hall in time for the school summer concert to finish off the event.

We have decided to choose the charity, PAPYRUS, because of some traumatic events that have affected the school over the past year. We have a wish to raise awareness for mental health and have a passion to raise as much money as possible for this worthy cause. Therefore, we have decided to set the ambitious goal of trying to raise £25,000 for PAPYRUS.

PAPYRUS are a charity focused on raising awareness about mental health and suicide prevention. Just £20 of your money will pay for one 20 minute call to help a young person in distress, £65 pounds will keep their helpline, text and email services open for one hour! And £165 can cover the cost of training someone on a two day course that prepares caregivers to provide suicidal first aid and interventions.

We would be truly grateful for any amount of money that you can donate to help us reach this lofty target.
