The Milking Parlour Has Become the Ideal Stop-off for Cyclists
23 May 2023 – The Milking Parlour farm shop and cafe has become the perfect stop-off for cyclists exploring the Cheshire countryside on the old Land’s End to John o'Groats route, with growing numbers of cycling clubs incorporating the café into their rides.
“When we first opened The Milking Parlour last year, we designed it with cyclists in mind” says owner Gemma Potts. “From the seating through to our menu, we’ve made everything perfect for cyclists and it’s great to see so many stopping-by for a rest, quick bike repairs and a snack.”
With plenty of space to park bikes in front of The Milking Parlour, and both indoor and outdoor seating, the Wettenhall-based café is open seven days a week with cyclist-friendly facilities and items for sale. The café is also conveniently sited next door to the Cheshire Cycles Nantwich store so riders can seek advice and pump up their tyres as needed.
“We can even provide cyclists with a bike pump and inner tubes from The Milking Parlour when Cheshire Cycles is closed on Sundays and Mondays”, says Potts.
The menu includes all-day breakfasts, cake, Kimbo coffee and gluten-free options. Plus, the café stocks Protein Rebel’s all-natural sports nutrition products, including Maple Ignite energy gels which are perfect for a sustained energy boost during a long ride.
“I’d like to think we’ve thought of everything, including installing a glass café front so bikes are always in view when seated inside”, says Potts. “And if cyclists become regulars, they’ll benefit from discounts via our loyalty card scheme.”
