Vaccines ramp up at Congleton Town Hall

Congleton Town Hall are pleased to welcome back NHS staff and volunteers this Thursday & Friday, as more patients with appointments attend for their Covid 19 vaccination.

Following on from the success of last week, we would like provide patients with helpful information on planning their visit to the Town Hall.

    Parking:

We have arranged with Cheshire East Council to 'reserve' the free on-road parking bays opposite the Town Hall, so people can park/drop as close as possible.  Once again we are asking the public to avoid parking in the bays to keep them free for people coming for their vaccinations.  Burns Garage on Canal Street has kindly offered parking on their forecourt, this was very much appreciated by people attending last week – thank you Burns Garage.

    Arrival Time:
Please aim to arrive at the Town Hall as close as possible to your given appointment time.  You will be met by a volunteer steward who will then see you into the Cotton Club for temperature checks and registering. Wheelchair users will be directed directly through the foyer.  People will be seen at the time of their appointment not in the order of arrival. We appreciate it is difficult to know how long it will take to travel in to Congleton and park up. But you are better waiting in the car than outside the Town Hall.

    Clothing:

Please wrap up warm, but be mindful that in the vast majority of cases you will need to expose an arm - so it may be easier to wear cardigans than over the head jumpers.

    After the injection:

Patients will be asked to sit for 15 minutes after the injection.  A precautionary measure, to make sure they don’t have a reaction to the vaccine.

This is an NHS based national vaccination being rolled out using set criteria.  As more vaccinations become available the number of vaccination days at the Town Hall will increase.  The GP practices will contact patients to arrange their appointment.  Patients are kindly asked to be patient and not to call the surgery.

Thank you for your co-operation and support.
